What is Aviclear and how does it work?

AviClear is the first and only FDA-cleared energy device from Cutera for the treatment of mild to severe acne. It can be used to treat all skin tones, no matter how minor or major your breakouts may be. AviClear selectively targets and suppresses the sebaceous glands, which produce the sebum (the oily substance on the skin) that can cause and intensify breakouts. Clinical trials for patients on the AviClear treatment saw over 90% of patients responding to the treatment with over 80% of patients showing at least a 50% acne-clearing improvement after 1 series.

Am I a candidate for AviClear?

Unlike many other lasers, AviClear is suitable for all skin tones, because the energy is absorbed by the sebaceous glands, not the pigment as it seeks out the source of the sebum that's causing and worsening breakouts. If you are suffering from acne, you are most likely a great candidate!

Are there any risks or side effects?

​

During treatment, patients may notice a slight snapping sensation, and the laser's skin cooling and sensory control mechanism maintains the skin's temperature so the treatment is more comfortable.  Aside from that, side-effects are virtually non existent and you can go about your day with no downtime.
